spam musubi!

soo delicious!! this is one of my favorite things to eat... and carens recipe is awesome... way better than any musubi ive had at a restaurant here.. she came into town this past weekend to visit and taught me how to make it... i am going to be eating this deliciousness for a while... yay!

sadly i didnt buy a spam musubi maker in sj like i wanted.. but i learned how to just use the spam can.. and they turned out pretty good still! :)

spam musubi!

1 can of spam

¼ cup of soy sauce

2 tablespoon sugar

3 cups of rice

Furikake (seasoning for rice, ususally a combo of salt, sesame seeds and little pieces of seaweed)

Nori (cut in half so that it fits the width of the musubi maker)

1. Cut spam into around 10-12 pieces lengthwise. Fry in pan until lightly browned. (I usually use two pans at the same time) Mix the soy sauce and sugar together and add it to the pan. Make sure all the spam gets covered with the sauce and cook until the sauce has mostly evaporated, but not too long or else it will burn.

2. Let the spam cool on a plate. Take rice out and add furikake until it is to a taste you like.

3. Use the musubi maker placing the nori, rice, spam, more rice and use as directed. Use water to seal together and cut into the size you like.
