1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts, cut up
1 c. dates, cut up
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. Crisco

ICING:
1 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream white sugar and Crisco. Add egg and pumpkin. Mix in next 5 ingredients. Add nuts, dates and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Drop from spoons onto cookie sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. Combine ingredients for icing and spread over cooled cookies.
