chocolate chewy sugar cookies

these cookies are one of my favorites... one day, way back when... melissa and i visited a friends restaurant. she had just made some cookies and let us try a few. and we fell in love with the soft, chocolatey, chewy cookie :) we continue to make these cookies every christmas during our cookie baking day :)

chocolate chewy sugar cookies...
1-1/4c butter
2c sugar
2 eggs
2tsp vanilla
2-1/4c flour
3/4c cocoa powder
1tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

1. mix butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, etc in a bowl..
2. mix flower, cocoa powder.. all other dry items..
3. roll into balls in sugar
4. bake @350 for 8-9 mins
